How We Play
Caliga might be a little different than other on-line role playing games you've participated in. Here, we use Googledocs to colaborate on written scenes. GoogleDocs is a real-time document and spread sheet editor. You can write your portion of a scene in the doc while chatting with your co-conspirator on AIM, YIM, etc, taking turns back and forth to build a scene between your characters.
GoogleDocs does require you to sign up for a Google Account, but you don't need GMail to use it. Any existing e-mail address will work. It saves the document to the web, and has handy tools like Spell Check built right in. To invite other people to edit a document, just click on the "Share" button once you're in the document, and input the colabator's e-mail address in the box. He or she will then get an e-mail invitation with a link to the doc.
If you don't have AIM or YIM (which seem to be the two more popular messaging services), then we strongly suggest that you get one or the other. Most plot discussion will likely take place through IM, and it's a handy tool for fact checking while sceneing.
If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail or IM Vicky.
