A Dark Rising

Emma Dobbs

Player Info:
Name: Leigh

Character Audition Questions:

Name: Emmeline Charlotte Dobbs
Age and date of birth: April 2, 1983
Physical description: Emma is the definition of a china doll: porcelain skin, rosy cheeks, perfect golden curls, hazel eyes, and pouty lips. She stands at about 5'7 and has slight curves; not enough to be considered voluptuous, but just enough to tease at the perfect body hidden beneath her clothes. She isn't tall enough for runway jobs, but she's quite well known for her print work.
Parents’ Allegiance: (DE, OotP, Ministry, etc.): Emma's parents, Nathaniel and Charlotte Dobbs, were not open supporters of Voldemort. However, they were both extreme blood purists and privately supported the Dark Lord's agenda. Charlotte's mother was a Dolohov, and her paternal grandmother was a Yaxley; therefore, Emma is distantly related to two of the older pure families.
Personal Allegiance: (DE, OotP, Ministry, etc.): Herself. Alliances come and go, legions rise and fall with time. It's best to stay guarded and keep ones thoughts and opinions private.
How do people perceive this character:Depends on who you're asking. To outsiders, Emma is a cold-hearted, aloof bitch (and she's okay with that perception). But to those select few who have proven loyal and trustworthy over the years, she's a very caring and loyal friend. It goes both ways, though. If Emma is loyal to you, she expects you to do the same for her. If not, she will quickly cut you from her life like one would prune a rosebush.
Greatest fear: Letting people in.
Greatest passion: The spotlight.
Aspiration: For people to know her name.
Greatest Positive Attribute: Emma is extremely intelligent and loathes being thought of as nothing more than a just pretty face.
Biggest Fault: Her reluctance to let new people in and her hex-happy temperament. Vanity is also right up there.
Happiest Memory: The first time she was hired for a magazine cover. Seeing her face on the cover of Witch Weekly gave her a thrill not unlike her first orgasm.
Most painful Memory: Receiving news of her parents' death. She was supposed to have been in Switzerland with them, but a rescheduled photo shoot changed her travel plans at the last minute.
Does your character value the purity of blood: She's supposed to. Her parents preached blood purity til the day they died, but there are times that it's hard to reconcile her childhood preachings with the life she leads.
Is your character "pure-blooded," a "half-blood" or "Muggle-born": Pure-blooded

Describe the character's personal history (however brief or extensive):

A spring baby, Emma was born to Nathaniel and Charlotte Dobbs on the second day of April in 1983. Her family had escaped both the Dark Lord's clutches during the First War, and the fall from grace that many of the older pure families experienced. As both of her parents were older, she was to be their only child- which was the way she liked it, because she was the center of attention 24/7.

She was not excited about going off to Hogwarts, and even asked her parents if she could be privately tutored from home. This was one request her parents denied, however, and so she was sent off to school. There was no surprise when she was sorted into Slytherin, and though it took a few months, she eventually settled into her routine and found her niche within her House. Despite the tumult that surrounded the Second Battle, Emma and her family passed through it all unscathed even though her parents were proud supporters of the Dark Lord and his regime.

Tragedy struck when Emma was eighteen; her parents had scheduled a holiday in Switzerland, but at the last minute, a shoot in Cozumel had to be rescheduled. Her parents were upset, but she promised to join them as soon as the last picture had been taken. It was in Mexico that she heard about the accident; her father had lost control of his skis and crashed into a tree whilst on the slopes. By the time her mother reached him, he was gone.

Emma went through a very dark period because she took the burden of her father's death on herself; if she'd have been there, maybe things would've been different. Charlotte, crippled by grief, signed all her husband's obsessions and holdings over to Emma before she moved to a small villa on the Adriatic coast in Greece.

Every three months, she takes the time to visit Greece. Her mother's abandonment hurt her deeply, scaring her deeper that Emma is willing to admit, but she tries to work past it for the sake of family. In the meantime, she keeps her perfect facade up: the picture-perfect model, just living the life of fame and glamour.
